Plan your daily activities out. Make a schedule for your daily activities and stick to it. This will help eliminate stressful and last minute situations. You can make a daily to do list and put the most important things that you need to get done at the top of the list.

When you find yourself constantly late and missing deadlines, consider getting a bigger clock and putting it in a place where it stares you down all the time. Studies show that when people can see a clock during the day, they mentally gravitate toward more time-saving efforts! Try this at home and the office to better manage your time.

There are many interruptions you will face each day. If you pack your schedule too tight, it will get thrown for a loop when unexpected interruptions occur. Plan for the interruptions to stay on task.

Try eliminating distractions in your life if you’re always running out of time for things. For example, it’s difficult to finish a report for your boss if your email is constantly dinging and cell phone always ringing. Turn off technology and learn to tune out distractions. You should be able to focus much better!

Make the word “no” part of your vocabulary. Sometimes it’s easy to over commit yourself, simply because saying no feels impossible. If you don’t have a lot of time to do something, check your schedule. Can you give some tasks to others? If so, maybe your family and friends can help.

Prior to calling someone on the phone at work, take a few minutes to plan out the questions that you need answered. Often a lot of time is wasted simply through the rambling that occurs on the telephone when you don’t know what you really need. Having a sense of your goals prior will help keep you on track.

There is a chance that only 20% of all your conversations, activities and thoughts are responsible for a full 80% of your actions and results. Set realistic goals and strive to accomplish them, but understand that sometimes it doesn’t happen that way.

Time is too precious a resource to go to waste. This is even more true it wasting time is cutting into your leisure time. The key to a happy life is having good time management skills. Use what you’ve just learned to get what you want out of life.
